Final Drawings, 9 Leaves

The picture is slightly cut off on the right side because it didn't fit the scanner. I really enjoyed doing this assignment and getting to use different types of drawing. My two favorite leaves are the blind contour and the one where I used random lines to shade.

Time Capsule Drawing

Unfortunately, the paper was hard to scan in because it was so large. Parts of the drawings ended up being cut off as a result. For the most part though, the bulk of the drawing is there.

Design research zine

I really enjoyed this project. It was difficult for me at times to find things to say about the products that I liked. Sometimes because I had a lot I could say and it was hard to differentiate between what I should say, and sometimes because I wasn't really sure why I liked it. I really enjoyed looking through all of the different magazines, and I feel that I did a good job on this project.

Magazine Layout

This magazine layout is from Wallpaper* September 2007 edition. I think the hardest part about this assignment was picking which layout to imitate. If I were to redo this, I would make the words "IAR STUDIO" in the bottom right bold. Other than that, I think I did a fairly good job.

Still life drawings

The top two drawings were done in class. For some reason, I had a much harder time drawing my own still life, than the one set up for me. On the bottom two, I could not see the top of the box so I really wasn't sure what to do because without the top it looks incomplete. I think this is something I could use more practice on.

Self portrait - white on black

This was my second drawing. The first one that I did, I tried to erase too much and tore a hole. I don't really like my drawing, although I think it has an interesting contour. It doesn't really look like me. I think it looks like Frieda Kahlo.

Mapping Profiles

I know that these drawings are all hard to see because pencil was used. Sorry about that. Next time I will outline in pen.

Four Contour Drawings of Downtown Greensboro

I used the technique of sighting with all of these, and I feel like they turned out much better than my previous drawings of college ave.
